Cookie Policy
Last updated August 3, 2026
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies builtbyadam.ca uses, and why you won't see a cookie consent banner here.
What this Site does not do
This Site does not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind. There's nothing here to opt into for ad targeting, because none is used.
What this Site does use
Two analytics tools run in the background to help me understand how the Site is used:
- Vercel Web Analytics is cookie-free. It reports aggregated page-view counts without setting any cookie or tracking individual visitors.
- Firebase Analytics (built on Google Analytics) may use a first-party cookie or a locally-stored device identifier to distinguish separate visits and count page views. It does not track you across other, unrelated websites.
Your browser may also store small amounts of technical data (such as your theme preference, if applicable) purely to make the Site function correctly. This isn't used for tracking.
Why there's no cookie banner
The technologies above are limited to functionality and aggregate usage measurement - there are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies that would require an opt-in banner. If you'd prefer not to be counted by Firebase Analytics, you can block it using your browser's tracking-protection settings, a content blocker, or by enabling "Do Not Track" - most modern browsers and ad/tracker blockers will stop it from loading.
Contact form
The contact form doesn't use cookies at all - your submission is sent directly by email, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If the analytics or technologies used on this Site change, this page will be updated, shown by the date at the top.
