Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information builtby.adam ("I", "me") collects through builtbyadam.ca (the "Site"), why, and what happens to it. I operate as an independent web developer and technology consultant based in Ontario, Canada.

Information collected through the contact form

When you submit the contact form, I collect the information you enter: your first and last name, email address, the service you're interested in, and your project message. That submission is sent directly to my inbox by email (and a short summary is forwarded to my phone as a text notification) so I can respond to you. It is not stored in a database - once it has been emailed to me, the only copies that exist are in my email inbox and, if applicable, my phone.

Your IP address is read briefly by the server-side function that handles form submissions, solely to apply a rate limit (max 5 submissions per minute per IP) that prevents spam and abuse. It is held in memory for that purpose only and is not logged, stored, or associated with your submission afterward.

Analytics

This Site uses two analytics tools to understand how it's used:

• Vercel Web Analytics - collects aggregated, anonymized page-view data. It does not use cookies and does not track you individually across sites.
• Firebase Analytics (Google) - records page views and basic usage events. This service is operated by Google and may use cookies or device identifiers to distinguish visits. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

Neither tool is used for advertising, and I do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. For more detail on the specific technologies involved, see the Cookie Policy.

Hosting and infrastructure

The Site is built with Next.js and hosted on Vercel and/or Firebase Hosting. The contact form is processed by a Firebase Cloud Function, which sends email via Google's Gmail service. These providers may process standard connection metadata (such as IP address and browser information) as part of delivering the Site to you, under their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can ask me what information I hold about you, request that I delete a message you've sent, or ask questions about this policy at any time by emailing contact@adamciszek.com. Because form submissions aren't stored in a database, deletion typically means removing the relevant email/message on my end.

Children's privacy

This Site is intended for business owners and professionals and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
